Keeping you safe,

Walking alongside you with empathy,

Helping you explore autism through words and pictures....

I offer a safe place, where you can bring your whole self and be accepted without judgement, just the way you are.

I offer an empathic environment, in which participants are encouraged to see life from each other's point of view.

I offer an autism-friendly atmosphere, in which to explore what it is like to be autistic in a world which doesn't understand autism.

Do you sometimes wonder if your brain works differently from other people’s?  Or do you know someone whose brain seems to work differently from yours? If so, come and talk about the experience and impact of what it is like to be autistic....

4 Frequently asked Questions about 3in1 Therapeutic Exploration of Autism (TEA)

through Storytelling

Question 1:  So, what's the story?

Autie is the main character of a story written to help us think about the experience and impact of autism.  The story begins with Autie feeling lost.  Will she ever arrive anywhere, or is she doomed to wander around the foothills of Mystery Mountain alone forever?

Come and find out more about Autie, and see how you respond to her story.  If you think you are like Autie, take hope from her story! If you prefer to avoid those who experience the world differently, here's your chance to wake up to what you are missing out on! And if you are a person who is curious about Autie and her world, keep up the good work... Your willingness to be interested in and make space for those who are different is something to be celebrated!

Question 2:  What will the sessions be like?

I offer a set of four 50-minute autism-friendly online or face-to-face sessions for individuals or for groups of 2-4 participants.  Each session will consist of storytelling and discussion about different aspects of autism, plus an optional challenge to take away with you, if you so wish.

Sessions are based around a fairytale about Autie, an autistic woman who is trying to find her way through life, and as Autie’s tale is read out, you will be offered a chance to explore the experience and impact of what it is like to be ‘wired up’ differently from others, and to think about how you might relate to people who are ‘wired up’ differently from yourself.

After each session, there will be an optional ten-minute window of opportunity, in which you are invited to give a brief response to your experience, if you would like to do so.

Question 3:  What might my personal learning journey look like?

I will open up many opportunities for you to share about your experience, but if you want to just listen or make notes, that’s fine too. During the first session, we will discuss speaking, listening and confidentiality, so that you can feel safe.

If you wish to discuss, between sessions, what you learn about yourself in Therapeutic Exploration of Autism through Storytelling, I would be pleased to offer private counselling sessions. Please look at the 3in1 Counselling page to see whether you would like to receive counselling.

When sessions come to an end, the good news is that If you have enjoyed interacting with Autie’s story, you can sign up for another set of sessions. There is plenty more to learn!   Alternatively, if you wish to go on a therapeutic journey which includes developing the skills associated with reflective journalling., why not sign up for Therapeutic Discovery through Reflective Journalling? Please look at the Therapeutic Discovery through Reflective Journalling page to see if this is for you.
